On Friday, October 10th, Girls Inc. of Los Angeles will host our 4th Annual Women’s Leadership Breakfast to celebrate the International Day of the Girl. On a day focused on lifting up girls' voices and shining a light on their potential, we will convene 150+ women leaders across a variety of sectors to network and commit to supporting girls—the leaders of today and tomorrow.

Hosted by Chief at their Los Angeles Clubhouse, the event will feature a panel of female leaders and changemakers who will share their experiences and perspective on the unique issues and opportunities facing women leaders of today. Previous panelists include Warner Bros. Television Group Chair Channing Dungey, President of the LA Sparks Christine Monjer, Founder and Former CEO of Beyond Yoga Michelle Wahler, Founder of Mendocino Farms Ellen Chen, Global Head of Barbie and Dolls at Mattel Lisa McKnight and many other accomplished women.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Girls Inc. of Los Angeles, supporting programming for over 1200 girls inspiring them to become the leaders of today and tomorrow.

Pearlena Igbokwe
Chairman Television Studios, NBC Entertainment & Peacock Scripted

Pearlena Igbokwe is Chairman, Television Studios, NBC Entertainment & Peacock Scripted. She oversees NBC Entertainment, including scripted, unscripted, late-night, live events and specials, all scripted originals for Peacock and Universal Studio Group (USG). 

With her expanded purview Igbokwe now leads the teams responsible for notable programs such as  “Saturday Night Live,” “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Hacks,” “The Day of the Jackal,” Dick Wolf’s enormously successful “Law & Order,” “One Chicago” and “FBI”-branded series, “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” “America’s Got Talent,” “We Are Lady Parts,” “A Man on the Inside,” “The Americas” and “The Voice.” 

Since 2020, Igbokwe has served as Chairman of USG and its world-class library of television series from Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios and Universal Television Alternative Studio. The four television studios have produced more than 3,000 hours of programming airing or streaming around the globe. Under Igbokwe’s leadership, USG had #1 shows on Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Peacock and Hulu, as well as NBC, Sky and CBS.

She and her team support a slate of ambitious storytellers, including Michael Schur, Tina Fey, Jordan Peele, Darren Star, Nahnatchka Khan, Seth MacFarlane, Julie Plec, Amy Poehler, Tanya Saracho, David Heyman, Lorne Michaels, Gareth Neame, Debra Martin Chase, Nick Antosca, Kevin Williamson, Sue Naegle and Dick Wolf, among numerous others. 

Previously, Igbokwe was President, Universal Television, where she oversaw creative development, casting and production and led the division to new heights with record production output. Some of her development highlights include “Russian Doll,” “The Gilded Age,” “New Amsterdam,” “The Bold Type,” “Good Girls” and Dick Wolf’s “FBI”-branded series, among numerous other notable projects. In a highly competitive landscape, Igbokwe was able to secure pickups for her projects on every major streaming service, a variety of premium cable outlets and every broadcast network. 

Monique Rivera
Vice President of Design, Dolce Vita

Monique Rivera brings over 15 years of expertise in fashion footwear, with a career in boutique labels like Vince Camuto, and her longtime home at Dolce Vita - where she first worked alongside the brand’s founders from 2009 to 2014 before returning in 2020 as VP of Design. A Brooklyn native of Puerto Rican heritage, she studied Fine Arts and Footwear Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology and began her career in accessories trend forecasting, giving her a sharp eye for cultural shifts and emerging influences. Rivera is deeply inspired by the streets of New York, global travel, and the art world, and remains committed to designing shoes that resonate with a diverse community across generations.

Justine Siegal
Co-Founder of Women’s Pro Baseball League

Named one of USA Today's "100 Most Powerful People in Baseball," Justine was the first woman to coach men’s pro baseball (Oakland A's, 2015) and throw MLB batting practice (2011). Her jerseys are in the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Smithsonian. She founded the nonprofit Baseball For All and co-founded the Women’s Pro Baseball League launching in 2026. Justine holds a PhD in Sport Psychology and has spoken to Google, Ford, Red Bull, and The White House.

Julia Straus
CEO, Sincerely Yours

Julia Straus is the co-founder and CEO of Sincerely Yours, a clean skincare brand built to empower the next generation with safe, effective routines made for young skin. Previously, she was CEO of Sweaty Betty, the UK-based premium activewear brand, where she led global triple digit growth and oversaw its sale to Wolverine Worldwide (NYSE: WWW). Prior to Sweaty Betty, she was the founding CEO of TULA Skincare, helping to build it into a leader in clean, high-performance skincare. Julia began her career in finance before moving into DTC consumer brands in New York City. She holds a BA from Princeton and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Julia lives in Connecticut with her husband and three daughters.

Natalie Tran
Executive Director, CAA Foundation

Natalie Tran serves as Executive Director of the CAA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of leading talent and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA). The Foundation activates the power and reach of the entertainment, media, and sports industries to create systemic social change for a more equitable and optimistic future. Its efforts are focused on public education, civic engagement, climate, and in times of critical need, mobilizing into action through crisis response. Based in the Los Angeles office, Tran consults clients, executives, and corporations on their philanthropic and pro-social initiatives.

In 2023, the CAA Foundation was named the one of Fast Company’s Best Workplaces for Innovators. In 2020, Tran led the formation of the Civic Alliance, a non-partisan coalition of businesses united by a commitment to a thriving democracy. Since its inception, the Civic Alliance has grown to over 1,350 companies with a reach of 5.6 million employees and was named as one of Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas.

In 2018, Tran co-founded I am a voter., a nonpartisan awareness campaign that aims to create a cultural shift around voting and civic engagement by engaging brands and talent. Since its launch, the campaign has activated hundreds of brand partners and influencers to help increase voter turnout in every state.

She also serves on the Board of The Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), Power the Polls, Turnaround Arts CA and is on the Advisory Board of the Black Economic Alliance. Her work has been featured in Forbes, The New York Times, Leaders Magazine, Chronicle of Philanthropy, WORTHY, and The Hollywood Reporter.

She is a native of Los Angeles and is a graduate of the University of Redlands with a degree in Business Management, Creative Writing, and Art History.
